Hopefully, you are already planning your trip to Valencia for the PUG Challenge 2025, taking place from November 5–7. At the Hotel Meliá, participants can look forward to a varied program with numerous sessions and workshops on current and exciting topics from the world of Progress.
The focus this year will undoubtedly be on artificial intelligence, which is already significantly transforming the way we work. In Valencia, we will dedicate an entire workshop to the topic of AI-assisted development with OF-1.
OF-1 AI-assisted Software Development
Are OF-1 and OpenEdge ready for an AI-driven future? We can confidently say “yes.” We are already testing the use of an AI model in combination with our low-code development platform OF-1. As part of a modernization project, the AI can already take over time-consuming tasks: for example, it can analyze existing source code to automatically create a database model. OF-1 AI adapter
In addition, we’ll present another exciting development: with our brand-new AI adapter for OF-1, software can be equipped with an AI assistant that can answer questions and perform small tasks. In this setup, the adapter acts as an interface between the business entities and an MCP server.
The trend is clear: the software of the future will do much more than just manage data. AI assistants will play a dynamic role in business applications, acting as active supporters of human users. You will get the chance to explore the first steps on this path in our workshop.
