Progress World Tour / PUG Cologne 2026

Progress World Tour / PUG Cologne 2026

It’s a must-attend event for all IT professionals in the OpenEdge world: on May 5, 2026, the annual OpenEdge World Tour will be coming to Cologne – and just one day later, the Progress User Group Germany e.V. will be hosting its annual symposium and general meeting. Over the course of two days, Progress experts will present the latest developments and trends around OpenEdge in a variety of talks and workshops.

IAP will participate in both events with highly topical contributions.

Progress World Tour / PUG Cologne 2026

OpenEdge World Tour 2026 & PUG Conference in Cologne – IAP with two interesting presentations

In our free workshop at the OpenEdge World Tour, we will provide first-hand insights on how AI agents can be integrated into existing OpenEdge applications.

The focus of our workshop will be on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) – an architecture that allows Large Language Models to be connected to existing business logic in a controlled, targeted manner.

Participants will learn:

  • What MCP is and how the protocol works
  • Its role in modern AI architectures
  • How to set up an MCP server
  • How to connect it to OpenEdge backends

Using an example implementation, our speakers will demonstrate the practical steps for integration. It will quickly become clear that an AI assistant is much more than just an improved search function – it opens up a completely new way to interact with applications and data.

Sign up for the workshop now and benefit from first-hand expert knowledge that you can immediately apply to your own systems!

Things will stay interesting on the following day: at the Progress User Group Germany conference, we will present a talk on Microsoft Graph API. In this session, Stefan Freystätter will explain how Microsoft services like Outlook and Teams can be directly integrated into existing ERP systems using the Graph API – and what new opportunities this integration creates.

Both events are a fantastic opportunity to connect with Progress experts and users, build new contacts, and gain fresh ideas for your own projects.

We look forward to seeing many familiar faces!
